Springfield Armory’s M1A Socom 16 starts with a specially-engineered 16 inch barrel that is mated to the gas system with a proprietary muzzle brake. The muzzle brake reduces felt recoil and keeps muzzle rise so flat that follow-up shots with a caliber this powerful have never been so easy. It comes with enlarged ghost ring aperture rear sight and XS Sights Tritium Insert in the front sight which gives you the quick target acquisition capability you want and need under any conditions. It features a forward scout-style Picatinny mount, one 10 round Parkerized steel magazine, and caliber in 7.62X51mm (308 Win).
The M1A SOCOM 16 CQB is purpose designed for close range engagements against serious threats. The 16.25″ carbon steel barrel is tipped with a small but efficient muzzle brake for fast follow-up shots. Springfield Armory® also offers the M1A SOCOM 16 CQB from the factory with a Vortex® Venom red dot sight. This compact, rugged, and effective red dot mounts to the stripper clip guide in the perfect spot for close range, both-eyes-open engagements.
